I think we need to have a meet-up.

...This is a sneaky piece of information, but I have a close relation who will be moving to California soon, and who I could certainly stay with and will more than likely be visiting within the next few years if I can raise the funds O_O

Fresno, I think? I don't know where things are in relation to one another, but I'm sure we could move around a bit when we visit. :)

That's pretty much dead center between San Francisco and Los Angeles... SF is 3.5 hours to the north, and LA is 3.5 hours to the south.
